Why You Should Do Affiliate Marketing?

You'd probably got the same answer as everyone else did... ya' know the obvious stuff like want to be rich quick, tired of your current job or maybe just don't deserved that little pay that you earning right now and maybe a few more reasons you had.

but...

really I'm asking why affiliate marketing?

To put things into perspective... let us follow and try to understand this pattern that I've found out...

It's what I called Business Revolution.

Agricultural Era
Not sure when it all started but it existed until now... agricultural era probably started sometime around 8000 B.C. You may call it science, art, and business of cultivating soil, producing crops, and raising livestock.

This was how majority of the world population earned a living . It's the way for hard workers not the lazy bums. Until today this type of business still exist, however the earning power no longer at the peak.

Industrial Era
The Industrial Revolution was a period from the 18th to the 19th century where major changes in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and transport had a prolonged effect on the socioeconomic and cultural conditions starting in the United Kingdom, then subsequently spreading throughout Europe.

Almost every aspect of daily life was eventually influenced in some way notably  average income and population began to exhibit unprecedented sustained growth.

In the two centuries following 1800, the world's average income increased over 10-fold, while the world's population increased over 6-fold.(sourced from Wikipedia)

Like the former, the earning power decreased after a new era came and that is...

The Information Age 
Is the current age characterized by the ability of individuals to transfer information freely, and to have instant access to knowledge that would have been difficult or impossible to find hundred years before.

The Information Age has allowed rapid global communications and networking to shape modern society.

Also business platform(from the previous era) has been shifted onto a new ground which is the internet, allowing people to earn a living at their own comfort. This is where we are right now.

Affiliate marketing was introduced and so did other internet related business. With internet, many "real world" businesses has managed to grow their client base that reaches far across the globe through affiliate program they'd offer.

Those who joined these affiliate programs are called affiliate marketers (similar to real world sales person but with a little twist) and their responsibilities is to lead people to have a look at a product or services that might be a solution to their problems or might fulfill their needs. If these people with problems find these product or services interesting and they would like to use it then commissions would be paid to affiliate marketers once payment has been made.

People have problems or issues(who doesn't?!) and believe it or not, there is a huge number of people uses the internet each and everyday to find solutions to their problems... ya' know the things like, finding a job to buying clothes, getting a relationship advice to medical advice even pet care to growing toddlers all is being typed in the search engines like Google each day.

For example, if you are currently studying psychiatric(specialize in human behavior and mental condition),you can add affiliate marketing as your career of choice. With affiliate marketing you can lead people who have problems handling themselves to a product or services that might help them solve their problems.

There are many psychiatric advice circulating on the internet that even a non-psychiatric background affiliate marketers are taking advantage using it and eventually lead people to find services that is being offered by real psychiatrists... and they get paid regularly and the income potential is unlimited!
